Young people from across the diocese had a wonderful time at their discipleship camp in mid-July.
Year 10 to 13 students and members of the 2019 BOLD team met with their leaders at the Peter Snell Youth Village, Whangaparaoa, for four days of beach walks, crazy games, reflective times and teaching sessions.
The theme was radical living. Campers learned from Jesus’ encounters with Nicodemus and the Samaritan woman at the well. In worship stations and creative workshops they explored ways to build spiritual disciplines into their lives and connect with God through artistic expression.
The main speaker was Kirstin Cant who works for CMS as the youth mobiliser and has been involved in the BOLD programme and The Abbey (2017).
AYM ministry assistant Mark Prendergast said the camp went really well and there was a good spirit among campers.
“It was great to see kids going hard out for Jesus and engaging in some deep conversations with others. It was lots of fun too, of course,” he said.
