Diocesan Youth Mentor

Part time 20 hours, starting February 2023

We are looking for a passionate Youth Mentor to encourage, support and develop senior young people in the Diocese of Auckland. Qualifications and experience in faith-based and/or community youth work and good connections across the Anglican youth network are advantageous for this role, as is experience in community development and youth leadership development. The Diocesan Youth Mentor reports to the Diocesan Youth Facilitator and will be part of the Ministry Formation Team. They will have the ability to build positive, respectful and grace-filled relationships, particularly with young people but also all other stakeholders.

The Ministry Formation Team is focused on providing the diocese with education and professional development offerings for both clergy and lay leaders working in our churches with adults, youth, young adults, children and families.

The role will include mentoring and pastoral care of young people, connecting with church leadership, development and delivery of youth leadership training, retreats, and camps, social media communications, attending and leading at events, and event logistics.
