National and Three Tikanga

National

Of course the Auckland Diocese is only a portion of the whole Anglican province of Aotearoa, New Zealand and Polynesia.

We connect with young people across the motu, through the three strands or tikanga of our church. We are part of Tikanga Pākehā and cover Auckland, Northland & parts of Coromandel as well.

Nationally we are led by Lorna Gray our National Youth Facilitator who is based in Masterton. She gathers youth enablers from across the Diocese to connect, worship and pray together, and together we equip and support youth ministry in the Anglican church across the nation. Lorna and her team run The Abbey, our national youth leadership conference, held in August each year in Wellington. This year we are super excited to be launching The Priory, a two year block-based and formation focussed course for youth leaders across the country. Our aim is to blend community and faith-based youth work together with deep community formation over four block courses and regular connections in between. AYM is associated with several national Anglican networks who run national events, such as Tikanga Toru Youth Commission (also known as T3) who run the Tikanga Youth Exchange. These events are opportunities for youth leaders and young people to connect across the three Tikanga networks to grow in understanding and of course worship and pray together. If you are keen to get involved, again get in touch with Steph.

As our Diocesan Youth Facilitator, Steph represents our diocese at national youth meetings and events.
