Recently some big church governance meetings took place.
The first was in Tonga, and was General Synod, where representatives
from across the Anglican Province of Aotearoa New Zealand
and Polynesia took place. Sophie Berry, one of our youth reps,
was voted on as one of our General Synod reps last year.

At the beginning of September our own, Auckland Diocesan synod
happened, and the whole crew took much of the feedback from
Youth Hui to Synod. Here is Evan’s reflection on the team’s

Some of the other, more social justice oriented feedback was covered
by a motion from the Social justice team with a plan to reorganise
and refresh our Diocesan approach to Social Justice. This includes
setting up a new group called Do Justice, and the meeting is on
Wednesday 30t September 2026.
If you are keen to become a synod rep, our next Youth Hui will be held
at Chosen Valley Christian Camp, Saturday afternoon, 24th April 2027.
A huge well done and thank you to the youth rep team, they have meet together regularly over the past few months and worked hard to consider how to ensure young people’s voices are heard by the wider church. Thanks Annalia, Evan, Marie & Sophie.
