Interim ministry in Mangawhai and Paparoa

Following the retirement of the current vicar at the end of May, the parishes of Mangawhai and Paparoa will become vacant. Currently the two parishes work collaboratively, sharing the ministry of one priest as vicar of both places. The model for how ministry is effected needs reconsideration and the two parishes want to have some time to work with the Archdeacon on the best model for the future.

In the meantime, it is proposed that there be a period of interim ministry from 1 June 2025 of at least 6 months to allow this work to be undertaken. A priest is therefore sought to maintain regular worship across the local churches within the parish and to attend to necessary pastoral care. This would be a 0.5 stipend with use of a modern vicarage in Mangawhai.
