Flourishing Life on Church Land

At Synod 2022 a motion was passed expressing the desire for our churches to explore ways in which land under our stewardship could be used to enhance native biodiversity. At Synod 2023 that motion became a Standing Resolution.

Flourishing Life on Church Land, the resource booklet produced in response to that call, is now available. A practical guide to support ministry units in the care of church grounds and historical cemeteries with ecological considerations, it offers a range of ideas and suggestions addressing issues around native plants, mowing regimes, invasive species, ideas for hospitality and embarking on the care of creation journey as a community.

An online version of this resource is available here. For a hard copy of the booklet email .

A video interview with environmental scientist Dr Tim Martin, who contributed to this resource, is available on the diocesan YouTube page here.
