On 8 June this year, around 40 sustainability champions gathered for the annual Sustainability Champions workshop at St Mary’s Glen Innes with a focus on climate justice. It was great to learn more about the Christian advocacy organisation Common Grace Aotearoa and the Don’t Subsidise Pollution campaign. Around lunchtime we sent off a group of sustainability champions to join 20,000 others in the March for Nature at Aotea Square, before ending our time together by reflecting on the various creation care mahi of our champions and ministry units over the last five years.
