A New Zealand Prayer Book/He Karakia Mihinare o Aotearoa was used as a primary resource to upskill participants in the confident use of te reo liturgies, hīmene (hymns) and pronunciation.
The programme was put together by The Reverends Jacynthia Murphy, Megan Means and Sarah Moss. Recordings and resources are available below and on the Taha Māori playlist of the diocese’s YouTube channel.
Tihei, Mauriora;
Ki te wheiao, ki te ao mārama.
He hōnore, he korōria ki te Atua.
He maungārongo ki te whenua,
he whakaaro pai ki ngā tāngata katoa.
The breath, the energy of life;
to the daylight, to the world of light.
All honour, all glory to God.
Peace upon this land,
and good thoughts to all people.
