Diocesan Synod

Synod represents the whole diocese

Synod is a representative body of the whole diocese gathered under the leadership of the bishop. Licensed clergy, elected lay members and others come together to worship, debate and plan for the future. They vote on issues that affect the whole diocese and elect members of the Diocesan Council and other committees. Each triennial Synod meets in three annual sessions.

The Youth Hui enables young people to engage in the decision-making processes of the diocese. It meets annually before the diocesan Synod and elects its own representatives to Synod.

Synod 2025

The First Session of the Fifty-Eighth Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland will be held from Thursday 4 September to Saturday 6 September 2025 at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell.

Synod 2024

The Third Session of the Fifty-Seventh Synod of the Anglican Diocese of Auckland was held from Thursday 5 September to Saturday 7 September 2024 at Holy Trinity Cathedral, Parnell.
